Introducing Scout's MCP Server
Fall is here, and we’ve been busy brewing up something new!
We’re excited to share that Scout now has an MCP server.
What does that mean? In short: for devs leveraging AI tools for development, your coding assistant can now see what Scout sees. Your application data all accessible in human language, right where you work.
Scout’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) server works with any MCP-enabled AI assistant, including Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, and more. Think of it as AI-native monitoring for AI-native development.
Imagine asking or prompting your AI assistant like this:
“Why did error rates spike yesterday?”
Or even, “Find the most frequent error in app Foobar, get details, examine the stack trace, and plan a fix.”
No black-box guesswork. No late-night log dives. Just faster answers, clearer insights, and fixes that come right to you.
This is the first step toward closing a loop we’ve been thinking about for a long time: connecting monitoring data directly to the tools you use to build and ship products.
We’re excited to see what you think — and even more excited to hear what you build with it.

A new paper by MIT CSAIL researchers maps the many software-engineering tasks beyond code generation, identifies bottlenecks, and highlights research directions to overcome them. The goal: to let humans focus on high-level design, while routine work is automated.

Securing data in SaaS to SaaS Applications
SaaS applications present security teams with a growing list of unknowns. Who can access this data? What security processes are put in place? And more importantly: how do we detect data leak, compromise, or other malicious intent?

Spider-like construction robot promises to build a home per day
Construction robots have been around for a while, automating challenging tasks on job sites. The new kid on this block is called Charlotte, and it's billed as being autonomously capable of building a 2,150-sq-ft (200-sq-m) home in a single day – operating at roughly the speed of 100 bricklayers.

Python MCP Server: Connect LLMs to Your Data
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a new, open protocol that enables AI models to interact with external systems in a standardized and extensible manner. In this tutorial, you’ll install MCP, explore its client-server architecture, and work with its core concepts: prompts, resources, and tools.
