What alerting integrations does Scout support?

Scout integrates with: - Slack - PagerDuty - Splunk On-Call (formerly VictorOps) - Opsgenie - Zapier (via webhooks) - Generic webhooks

How do I set up Slack alerts?

  1. Go to Notification Channels in Scout (Alerts & Notifications > Notification Channels)
  2. Click “Slack Alert”
  3. Click “Add to Slack” and authorize Scout for your workspace
  4. Name the channel and select which Slack channel to notify
  5. Add the notification channel to a notification group
  6. Assign the notification group to your alert conditions

Can I send alerts to private Slack channels?

Yes. First invite the @Scout APM app to the private channel, then reload the notification channel page in Scout. The private channel will appear in the list.

How do I set up PagerDuty alerts?

  1. In PagerDuty, go to Services > Service Directory and create a new service
  2. Search for “Scout APM” as the integration type
  3. Copy the integration key from the Integrations tab
  4. In Scout, go to Notification Channels and click “PagerDuty Alert”
  5. Enter a name and paste the integration key
  6. Set the alert level and add to a notification group

How do I set up Splunk On-Call (VictorOps) alerts?

  1. In Splunk On-Call, go to integrations and enable the Scout integration
  2. Copy the Service API Key
  3. In Scout, create a “Splunk On-Call Alert” notification channel
  4. Paste the API key and optionally set a routing key
  5. Add to a notification group

How do I set up Opsgenie alerts?

Requires Opsgenie Standard plan or higher.

  1. In Opsgenie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add API Integration
  2. Create an integration named “Scout” with Create and Update privileges
  3. Copy the API key
  4. In Scout, create an “Opsgenie Alert” notification channel
  5. Paste the API key and set the alert level
  6. Add to a notification group

How do I use Zapier for custom integrations?

  1. Create a Zap in Zapier using “Webhooks by Zapier” as the trigger
  2. Select “Catch Hook” and copy the webhook URL
  3. In Scout, create a Webhook notification channel with the Zapier URL
  4. Add the webhook to a notification group
  5. Create an alert in Scout to generate sample data for Zapier
  6. In Zapier, configure the action (e.g., Slack message) using Scout’s data fields

How do I use alerts for Error Notifications?

After adding a channel to a notification group:

  1. Go to Alerts & Notifications > Error Notifications
  2. Add your notification group to the app’s error notifications
  3. The channels in that group will now receive error alerts
