What non-alerting notifications does Scout provide?

Scout offers two email notification types beyond alerting: - Digest Email - Insights Email

These are scheduled summaries rather than real-time alerts.

What is the Digest Email?

The Digest Email is a performance summary sent at your chosen frequency (daily or weekly). It analyzes your app’s performance for both web endpoints and background jobs, comparing against the previous week.

The email identifies: - Performance trends - Slow outliers - Potential causes of issues (like slow HTTP requests to external services)

What is the Insights Email?

The Insights Email aggregates your newest insights (N+1 queries, slow queries, and memory bloat) across all your applications. You can choose to receive it daily or weekly.

In addition to insights, it includes up to 5 of the slowest web request and background job traces across all your applications.

How do I configure notification frequency?

Both the Digest Email and Insights Email can be configured to send daily or weekly based on your preference. Configure these in your notification settings.
